Mass rally at the Hungarian and Azeri Consulates

In February 2004, Armenian Army Lieutenant, Gurgen Margaryan, was brutally killed in his sleep by an Azerbaijani Army Lieutenant, Ramil Safarov. The two were participants of a NATO-sponsored program in Hungary. Safarov was convicted of murder by the Hungarian court and sentenced to life in prison.

In April 2012, the Kuhn Foundation presented Katchaturian, a Peter Rosen documentary, narrated by Eric Bogosian with music by the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra. Serzh Sargsyan was re-elected as President of the Republic of Armenia

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 25- Armenia's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) issued the final results of February 18 Presidential elections. Serzh Sargsyan was re-elected to the post of the President of the Republic of Armenia by receiving 58.64 percent of the voters. CEC chairman Tigran Mukuchyan came forth with a statement on February 25.

Sergey Sarkisov was born in 1959, in Moscow, Russia. He graduated from Moscow State University of International Relations/MGIMO/ and holds a Ph.D. in Economics.

He is a successful businessman in the insurance industry in Russia with business ventures and affiliates in Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Baltic states.

Honorable Sergey Sarkisov is the President of EUI (the Eurasian Union of Insurance Organizations) in Moscow, and Member of the Board of IIS (International Insurance Society), world’s largest insurance organization headquartered in Washington DC.

He is fluent in Russian, English, French and Spanish languages.

 

The Consul General is married and has five children.
